Facing a mental health crisis—whether it’s your own or a loved one’s—can feel incredibly confusing and overwhelming. In those moments, it’s hard to know where to turn or how to begin the path toward healing. You’re not alone. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), as of February 2021, 43.5% of adults in Tennessee reported experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression. Even more concerning, 25.6% were unable to access the counseling or therapy they needed.
At Creekside Behavioral Health in Kingsport, Tennessee, we see you, we hear you, and we’re here to walk beside you through every step of your recovery journey. We provide personalized treatment for adolescents, adults, older adults, and families, all tailored to meet the unique needs of each person. Whether you are dealing with a recent diagnosis or have been struggling silently for years, our team is prepared to help you find clarity, stability, and hope again.
Here are just a few of the conditions we treat at Creekside:
Anxiety Disorder
Anxiety can be paralyzing. It goes beyond everyday worries and can show up as racing thoughts, a constant sense of dread, trouble sleeping, or even panic attacks. Our treatment programs are designed to help you regain control through therapy, medication management, and coping techniques that reduce symptoms and improve your overall sense of calm and safety.
Bipolar Disorder
Living with bipolar disorder often feels like riding an emotional roller coaster—soaring highs followed by devastating lows. At Creekside, we offer evidence-based therapies and medication support to help you stabilize your mood, manage impulsive behavior, and find balance in your daily life. Whether you’re experiencing mania, depression, or a mix of both, we tailor care to your unique experience.
Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia is a complex and often misunderstood condition that may involve hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized thinking. These symptoms can make everyday tasks feel overwhelming or even impossible. At Creekside, we provide a compassionate and structured environment where individuals with schizophrenia can receive intensive care, symptom stabilization, and long-term support strategies for success.
Suicidal Thoughts
If you or someone you love is struggling with suicidal thoughts, please know that you are not alone—and that help is available now. Suicidal ideation can stem from overwhelming sadness, trauma, hopelessness, or other mental health challenges. Our team provides immediate, life-saving support and works with you to develop a personalized plan that restores hope, safety, and healing.
Dual Diagnosis
Mental health conditions often go hand-in-hand with substance use disorders. At Creekside, our dual diagnosis program is designed to treat both conditions simultaneously. We understand that mental health and addiction are deeply connected, and our integrated approach offers a path forward that supports every aspect of your well-being—mental, emotional, and physical.
Types of Comprehensive Care
At Creekside Behavioral Health, we know there’s no one-size-fits-all solution to mental health recovery. That’s why we offer multiple levels of care, each carefully structured to meet you where you are and guide you toward where you want to be. Whether you need 24/7 inpatient care or a more flexible outpatient schedule, we’ll help you find the right fit.
Inpatient Psychiatric Care
Our Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Program is designed for adolescents (ages 9-17), adults, and senior adults who are experiencing severe psychiatric symptoms or behavioral crises. In this short-term, highly structured program, patients receive 24-hour monitoring and support in a safe environment. Our inpatient program is a vital first step for individuals in immediate need of stabilization, ensuring their safety while addressing the root causes of their symptoms.
Outpatient Treatment Options
Also known as day treatment, Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offers a step down from inpatient care while still providing intensive therapeutic support. This program is ideal for individuals who no longer require round-the-clock monitoring but still need structured treatment to support their recovery. Patients attend five days a week for six hours each day, returning home in the evenings.
PHP provides a balanced approach that promotes healing while encouraging personal responsibility, independence, and integration back into daily life.
Our outpatient services emphasize continuity of care, helping individuals apply what they’ve learned in treatment to everyday life while continuing to build healthy habits, manage symptoms, and stay connected to supportive resources.
PACT
The Program of Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) is a mobile, person-centered mental health service designed to support individuals who face challenges in continuing care after inpatient or partial hospitalization. By bringing treatment directly to individuals in their homes or communities, PACT reduces hospital readmissions, incarceration rates, and medication non-compliance. Often described as a “hospital without walls,” PACT provides flexible, ongoing care for those living with conditions such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and chronic substance use. The dedicated team meets individuals where they are—physically and emotionally—empowering them to pursue meaningful, fulfilling lives.
